Shane Talks Sports

My name is Shane.

I live in Central Florida and I work in the aerospace industry.

My daily job involves heavy use of computers and technology used to launch rockets. I enjoy talking about that but, sometimes I want to talk about sports.

Football discussions get pretty heavy at work in the fall because my coworkers and I have a few different fantasy football leagues that we are a part of.

After the Superbowl, the sports conversations kind of doe down for the most part. To hockey fans like myself, that is when the best part of the season starts.

I also enjoy baseball in the spring. There are a few others that do as well but not to the extent that they do football.

I play in two fantasy hockey leagues, three fantasy football leagues, and three fantasy baseball leagues at the start of the season. The commissioner removed me because I didn’t spend all of my time on Facebook to respond to his messages and trade requests.

I use social media, but not heavily. Its more of an afterthought to me. I use it to find fantasy leagues that have spots open, and an RC group that I have with sometimes has a group on Facebook that they share events in. Beyond that, I rarely use it and pretty much never post anything.

That is the reason that I choose methods like this to write and share my thoughts. I can do without the likes and comments. If someone wants to reach out to me to discuss something, I am open to that but not via a comment thread on social media.

I want to use this platform to talk about and share my thoughts about sports. That is it, nothing more, nothing less.

A lot of the stuff I wrote will be opinion based but if necessary, I will back it up with evidence.

Due to my involvement with using computers, the technology aspect of my life will overlap into this blog at times.

This sports blog uses a custom theme that I used Claude-Code to build.

My goal was to write about sports and it look like readers are reading the sports section an old newspaper.

I am biased towards South Florida teams, especially the Florida Panthers, and Miami Marlins but, that will not be everything that I write about.

I hope you enjoy my content. Eventually I’d like to create an open forum for people to come and discuss sports with me.

That would be awesome!
